Code, Public Utilities § 4–206","heading":"","body":"(a) At any time, the Commission may investigate and determine the fair value of the property of a public service company used and useful in providing service to the public.\n(b) (1) The valuation:\n(i) is not final until the Commission:\n1. serves on the public service company a copy of the order setting the proposed valuation and the method used to set the valuation; and\n2. allows a reasonable time in which to file a protest; and\n(ii) is final if a protest is not filed within the time specified in the order.\n(2) If a timely protest is filed, the Commission shall enter a final valuation by order after hearing.\n(c) All final valuations are prima facie evidence of value in proceedings under this division.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=4-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"c8db34c037aa729c36fc0de7e6a8ba048d8a01427fabec799bdc24d943085b3f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-4-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-4-206.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
