Code, Public Utilities § 7–543","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies to a person that is a successor to an electric company, whether through:\n(1) a reorganization, bankruptcy, or other insolvency proceeding;\n(2) a merger or acquisition, sale, or other business combination; or\n(3) a transfer by operation of law.\n(b) A successor to an electric company shall perform and satisfy all obligations of, and have the same rights under a qualified rate order as, the electric company under the qualified rate order in the same manner and to the same extent as the electric company, including:\n(1) collecting the revenues, collections, payments, or proceeds of the rate stabilization property; and\n(2) paying them to the person entitled to receive them.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=7-543","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"c4cd50ec37ffc49c9e20c8d4ab3cde2993c8e92678bbef708211ddc172c89f79","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-7-542","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-7-544"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
