Code, Public Utilities § 8–408","heading":"","body":"(a) To implement this subtitle the Commission may adopt regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of this subtitle that are consistent with federal law.\n(b) The regulations may include:\n(1) procedures for a customer to confirm a change in the customer’s telephone company or reseller made by another telephone company or reseller on behalf of the customer;\n(2) procedures for a customer to confirm a change in telecommunications service options;\n(3) procedures for a customer to confirm a change in the person who bills the customer or the customer’s billing arrangement;\n(4) provisions for the disclosure to the customer of the terms of the services offered by a telephone company or reseller;\n(5) methods of enforcement; and\n(6) other provisions, not inconsistent with federal law, that the Commission considers necessary to implement this subtitle.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=8-408","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"b5de97d157fd8b1777efa7d50c18e9e3a4aca6c56a42ce8c1861a81a6a60ac81","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-8-407","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-8-409"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
