Code, Public Utilities § 9–208","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to a motor coach that is licensed by the Commission to provide transportation of persons for hire.\n(b) A nonprofit entity that owns and operates a motor coach with a capacity of at least 30 passengers and gross vehicle weight rating of at least 32,000 pounds shall obtain a license for the motor coach from the Commission.\n(c) The nonprofit entity shall have the motor coach inspected for safety every 12 months by an authorized Maryland inspection station.\n(d) A motor coach that is licensed under this section and only provides service for or on behalf of a nonprofit entity is not subject to tariffs or rate making under this division.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=9-208","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"cad6752f28248cd1ff438f19f4c6a26de43225d2f85cbb104ac8992ddbd71e6a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-9-207","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-9-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
