Code, Real Property § 13–501","heading":"","body":"(a) The Commissioner shall prepare a patent within 30 days after:\n(1) The Commissioner or a circuit court, as the case may be, finds that a patent should issue;\n(2) That finding has become final by:\n(i) Failure to file an appeal before expiration of the period within which an appeal may be taken; or\n(ii) The rendering on appeal of a final decision; and\n(3) The purchase price for any vacant land and all outstanding expenses are paid.\n(b) The patent shall contain:\n(1) The name of the person to whom it is issued;\n(2) The name given to the land;\n(3) The name of the original applicant;\n(4) The date of issuance of the warrant;\n(5) The name of any person substituted as applicant and the date of the substitution;\n(6) The date of filing the certificate or amended certificate of survey on which the patent is based;\n(7) A description of the land, as contained in the certificate of survey; and\n(8) The Commissioner’s certificate that the patent is proper to be issued.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=13-501","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"f317e996cf01dfd1d3397597a0dd699370f4541a51ea00548b4254be95d47d16","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-13-413","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-13-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
