Code, Real Property § 14–701","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Determination of value” means a court order determining the fair market value of property under § 14–707 or § 14–711 of this subtitle or adopting the valuation of property agreed to by all cotenants.\n(c) “Partition by sale” means a court–ordered sale of property, whether by auction, sealed bids, or open–market sale conducted under § 14–711 of this subtitle.\n(d) “Partition in kind” means the division of property into physically distinct and separately titled parcels.\n(e) “Record” means information that is inscribed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in perceivable form.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=14-701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"2d32215fa4e461b81912ca567c8a5831ee11922b74faf5bde1a7415f01904d8b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-14-621","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-14-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
