Code, Real Property § 14–902","heading":"","body":"(a) This subtitle applies only to a service agreement entered into on or after June 1, 2023.\n(b) This subtitle does not apply to:\n(1) A home warranty or similar product that covers the cost of maintenance of a major home system such as plumbing, electrical, or heating, ventilating, and air–conditioning;\n(2) An insurance contract;\n(3) An option or right of refusal to purchase residential property;\n(4) A declaration created in the formation of a common interest community, as defined in § 1–801 of the Environment Article;\n(5) A maintenance or repair agreement entered into by a homeowners association, as defined in § 11B–101 of this article;\n(6) A mortgage loan or a commitment to make or receive a mortgage loan;\n(7) An agreement relating to the sale or rental of personal property;\n(8) Water, sewer, electrical, telephone, cable, or other regulated utility providers; or\n(9) A mechanics lien, as established under Title 9 of this article.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=14-902","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"9c94d41364bc05d3a74ee29c189704d7842a26a5261cb111de959b0ddb26cb25","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-14-901","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-14-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
