Code, Real Property § 14–909","heading":"","body":"(a) If a service agreement that is in violation of § 14–903 of this subtitle is recorded, any person with an interest in the residential property that is subject to a lien arising from the service agreement may bring an action against the service provider in the circuit court of the county where the residential property is located to request a determination that the service agreement is void and unenforceable under this subtitle.\n(b) If a service agreement is determined to be void and unenforceable under subsection (a) of this section, the person who brought the action may seek:\n(1) Compensatory damages; and\n(2) Reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=14-909","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"5fe952d4c1184cdeca46443a7db7ae85ac3ce4791f6eeb83726aed97bfc9d7c2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-14-908","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-15-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
