Code, Real Property § 7–403","heading":"","body":"For the purpose of venue under this subtitle, a violation of this subtitle shall be considered to have been committed:\n(1) In the county in which the residential real property is located for which a mortgage loan is being sought;\n(2) In the county in which an act was performed in furtherance of the violation;\n(3) In the county in which a person alleged to have violated this subtitle had control or possession of any proceeds of the violation;\n(4) If a closing occurred, in the county in which the closing occurred; and\n(5) In the county in which a document containing a deliberate misstatement, misrepresentation, or omission is filed in the land records.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=7-403","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"bdd7b76230ed6551a2c3fd3d9c3a00a5f810367805ebb096035b43d4e0379494","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-7-402","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-7-404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
