Code, Real Property § 7–509","heading":"","body":"(a) A person who violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.\n(b) (1) A person convicted of violating this subtitle shall pay restitution to any person damaged by the violation.\n(2) Restitution shall be ordered in addition to a fine or imprisonment or both.\n(c) Each violation of this subtitle constitutes a separate offense and shall not merge with any other crimes set forth in the Criminal Law Article.\n(d) A person who violates this subtitle is subject to § 5–106(b) of the Courts Article.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=7-509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"3e43c1391a4c9dd459ca31d6373901cf9f356e5c5e35ee656ebb69c612b71fb3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-7-508","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-7-510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
