Code, Real Property § 8–108","heading":"","body":"(a) A court may enter judgment for the renewal of a lease that contains a covenant for renewal, including a lease for 99 years, renewable forever.\n(b) A judgment for renewal of a lease is binding on each person who becomes a party to the action or has been served with process in accordance with Maryland Rule 2-122 and renews the title of all persons interested under the lease for the additional term, under the rent, and upon the covenants, conditions, and stipulations provided in the lease.\n(c) A judgment for the renewal of a lease shall be recorded among the land records of each county in which land that is subject to the lease is located.","path":["Article - Real Property"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=grp\u0026section=8-108","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:38Z","sha256":"d7957a7036b35246e23b03a516bd75d1f1a1cf431abf7ac68f484dfee184bb67","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-8-107","next":"us-md/md.-code-real-property-8-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
