Code, State Finance and Procurement § 15–212","heading":"","body":"(a) In connection with a proceeding authorized under this subtitle, the Appeals Board may:\n(1) administer oaths;\n(2) certify to all official acts; and\n(3) at the request of a party to the proceeding:\n(i) issue subpoenas for the attendance and testimony of witnesses or the production of documents; and\n(ii) compel the testimony of witnesses.\n(b) If a person fails to comply with a subpoena or order compelling testimony under this section, on petition of the Appeals Board, a court of competent jurisdiction may pass an order directing compliance with the subpoena or compelling testimony.\n(c) (1) A person who, under oath, willfully makes a false statement about a matter before the Appeals Board is guilty of perjury.\n(2) A person who causes another person under oath to make a false statement about a matter before the Appeals Board is guilty of subornation of perjury.\n(3) A person who commits perjury or subornation of perjury under this section is subject to the penalty provided in §§ 9-101 and 9-102 of the Criminal Law Article.","path":["Article - State Finance and Procurement"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsf\u0026section=15-212","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:48Z","sha256":"016661d475a37df04c280f73db0db13ad4eb7cb15307afccb18e3cc08e388e2d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-finance-and-procurement-15-211","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-finance-and-procurement-15-215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
