Code, State Finance and Procurement § 5A–302","heading":"","body":"The General Assembly finds that:\n(1) historic properties significant to the State’s heritage are being lost or substantially altered, often inadvertently, with increasing frequency;\n(2) historic properties are a vital part of our community life and development and cannot be replaced if lost or destroyed;\n(3) it is in the public interest to preserve the State’s heritage and enrich present and future generations with the cultural, educational, inspirational, social, and economic benefits of the past;\n(4) increasing knowledge of our historic resources, establishing better means of identifying and administering them, and encouraging their preservation will assist the economic and cultural growth of the State; and\n(5) the State’s heritage has been enriched by accomplishments and contributions of the State’s private preservation organizations, and their continuing activities are in the public interest.","path":["Article - State Finance and Procurement"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsf\u0026section=5A-302","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:48Z","sha256":"fc628d0f26397d207734471bca453c881f59e18d85b4262917393c576988b5f7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-finance-and-procurement-5a-301","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-finance-and-procurement-5a-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
