Code, State Finance and Procurement § 7–113","heading":"","body":"(a) The purposes of this section are to:\n(1) carry out the purposes of the laws relating to motor vehicle licensing and motor vehicle fuel taxes; and\n(2) prevent diversions of revenues that those laws generate.\n(b) In a budget bill, the Governor may use the revenues that are generated by motor vehicle licensing and by motor vehicle fuel taxes, including fines and penalties, only to:\n(1) construct, reconstruct, and maintain bridges, highways, roads, and streets;\n(2) pay the interest on and principal of bonds that have been issued to finance the construction of bridges, highways, roads, and streets; or\n(3) enforce those laws.","path":["Article - State Finance and Procurement"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsf\u0026section=7-113","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:48Z","sha256":"d6d45180acfccc4ce772571460286cd4bf6225b9bbbd39f6c5f2412123644ad4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-finance-and-procurement-7-112","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-finance-and-procurement-7-114"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
