Code, State Government § 10–124","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “business” means a trade, professional activity, or other business that is conducted for profit.\n(b) (1) Before a unit adopts a proposed regulation, the unit shall evaluate whether the proposed regulation has any impact on businesses.\n(2) To evaluate the impact, the unit shall:\n(i) on the basis of the sizes of the businesses that the proposed regulation might affect, divide those businesses into any classes that the unit considers appropriate for the proposed regulation; and\n(ii) particularly consider:\n1. the costs that the proposed regulation would impose on each class; and\n2. the difficulty of compliance for each class.\n(c) On the basis of the evaluation, the unit may adopt 1 or more regulations that apply differently to classes of businesses.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=10-124","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"6c626ede87258f12b23e04e12e9b1f562e83385fe1a0d0b4ef4ad1c92a8b540b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-123","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-125"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
