Code, State Government § 10–1401","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Drug crime” means:\n(1) a violation of Title 5 of the Criminal Law Article;\n(2) a violation of Title 12 of the Criminal Procedure Article; or\n(3) a violation of the law of any other jurisdiction if the prohibited conduct would be a violation of Title 5 of the Criminal Law Article or Title 12 of the Criminal Procedure Article if committed in the State.\n(c) (1) “License” means a license, permit, certification, registration, or other legal authorization:\n(i) issued or granted to an individual by a licensing authority; and\n(ii) required for engaging in employment, an occupation, or a profession.\n(2) “License” includes a commercial driver’s license issued under Title 16, Subtitle 8 of the Transportation Article.\n(3) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, “license” does not include:\n(i) a license to drive a motor vehicle issued by the Motor Vehicle Administration under Title 16 of the Transportation Article; or\n(ii) the registration of an agent, issuer agent, or investment advisor representative under the Maryland Securities Act and regulations adopted under that Act.\n(d) “Licensee” means a holder of a license issued by a licensing authority.\n(e) “Licensing authority” means an agency of the State that issues a license.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=10-1401","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"2c52fac2f026bea60e32b9c1859f4d4021250506adcb2a1e31c4582c1dde8f78","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-13a-04","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-1402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
