Code, State Government § 10–611","heading":"","body":"The Division shall:\n(1) inspect the records of the units of the State government;\n(2) study the records management practices of the units of State government;\n(3) review a proposal to buy or rent equipment, storage space, or services for records, including microfilming or photocopying, and, as appropriate, make recommendations about the proposal to:\n(i) the Department of Budget and Management; or\n(ii) the Board of Public Works;\n(4) on July 1, 1985 and for each subsequent 5–year period, report a series analysis of the character and quantity of records that a unit of the State government holds and that an official of the State government or the head of a unit is required or is permitted to offer to the State Archives; and\n(5) otherwise further the programs of each unit of the State government.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=10-611","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"b5de78435af9ef3bfd4f2fc95ab74725aca5e751c948415632f68cc609f7e092","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-610","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-614"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
