Code, State Government § 10–615","heading":"","body":"Except as expressly provided in § 10–619 of this subtitle, this Part III of this subtitle does not authorize:\n(1) the destruction of a permanent book of account;\n(2) the destruction of a land record of a clerk of a circuit court;\n(3) the destruction of any record that relates to the financial operation of a unit of the State government or to collection of State taxes until the requirements of §§ 2–1220 through 2–1227 of this article are met;\n(4) the destruction of any record until the expiration of the period that a statute expressly sets for that record to be kept;\n(5) the destruction of any public record that a statute expressly requires to be kept permanently; or\n(6) the destruction of any record of a court of record unless:\n(i) the destruction is authorized under § 1–605(d)(6) or § 2–205 of the Courts Article;\n(ii) an accurate transcript of the record is in use; or\n(iii) the record relates to the internal management of or otherwise is a housekeeping record for an office of a clerk of court or register of wills.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=10-615","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"6328c02c0526c14377d198dd98ebd55e7df9413e4eee4d82f3f6865ec08ec7d4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-614","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-10-616"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
