Code, State Government § 11–508","heading":"","body":"(a) If the local government approves the request for a joint hearing with respect to a State unit, that State unit has 10 days after receipt of the notice from the Coordinator to:\n(1) decide whether to participate in a joint hearing; and\n(2) give notice of its decision to:\n(i) the applicant;\n(ii) the local government; and\n(iii) the Coordinator.\n(b) The Coordinator shall give any other State unit involved in the hearing notice of a decision made by a State unit under subsection (a) of this section.\n(c) If there is only 1 State unit affected and the local government elects to have a joint hearing, the State unit shall participate in the joint hearing, unless it is entitled to an extension as provided in § 11-521 of this subtitle.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=11-508","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"43d93a48128c2b5a478fbaafa758643e94a6a7b8cf905c8cffd22aed92427480","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-11-507","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-11-509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
