Code, State Government § 18–203","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a notarial officer may perform a notarial act authorized by the laws of the State.\n(b) (1) A notarial officer may not perform a notarial act with respect to a record to which the notarial officer or the spouse of the notarial officer is a party, or in which either the notarial officer or the spouse of the notarial officer has a direct beneficial interest.\n(2) A notarial act performed in violation of paragraph (1) of this subsection is voidable.\n(c) A notarial officer may certify that a tangible copy of an electronic record is an accurate copy of the electronic record.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=18-203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"ce5ecc56ed097aa8d391176f1ace79afb2f29b5d6e766b886e3000b838a6adf8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-18-202","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-18-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
