Code, State Government § 2–1509","heading":"","body":"(a) As soon as practicable after a bill is returned to the house of origin, the presiding officer shall have the State seal affixed to the bill and shall present the bill to the Governor or a designee of the Governor.\n(b) The presiding officer who presents the bill or the clerk designated by the presiding officer shall:\n(1) in the presence of the individual to whom the bill is presented, make and sign, on the back of the bill, a written memorandum of the day and hour of presentment; and\n(2) have a corresponding entry made in the Senate journal or the House journal.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=2-1509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"a3da456ca29be21a146a431a6e0789e64ac0f3f99d0bcd60495fa921f75f0a79","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-1508","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-1510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
