Code, State Government § 2–1511","heading":"","body":"(a) The Governor shall deliver to the Secretary of State or a designee in the Secretary’s office:\n(1) each bill that the Governor approves, immediately after the approval;\n(2) each bill that becomes law without the approval of the Governor, on the day the bill becomes law;\n(3) each bill that the Governor vetoes; and\n(4) each executive order effective under Article II, § 24 of the Maryland Constitution.\n(b) (1) Subject to § 2–1248 of this title, the Secretary of State shall assign a chapter number to each bill that becomes law and to each executive order issued pursuant to Article II, § 24 of the Maryland Constitution.\n(2) Chapter numbers shall be assigned in the order in which the bills become law.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=2-1511","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"9a28482ddb15226f28007b008aaf082c3b95da2e6132af91e1489ed0aaeb75c2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-1510","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-1512"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
