Code, State Government § 2–506","heading":"","body":"(a) In addition to any powers set forth elsewhere, the Committee may:\n(1) review proposed or adopted regulations of a unit of the Executive Branch of the State government;\n(2) consider requests for emergency adoption of regulations;\n(3) inquire into an alleged failure of an officer or employee of any branch of the State government to comply with the laws of the State; and\n(4) review the operations of any unit of the Executive Branch of the State government.\n(b) (1) At least once a year, the Committee shall submit a report to the Legislative Policy Committee and, subject to § 2–1257 of this title, to the General Assembly.\n(2) The report shall:\n(i) describe the studies and other work of the Committee; and\n(ii) include any recommendations of the Committee on legislative action that is needed to change or reverse a regulation of a unit of the Executive Branch of the State government.\n(c) The failure of the Committee to comment on or to object to a proposed or adopted regulation is not an indication that:\n(1) the Committee approves the regulation;\n(2) the statute under which the regulation is adopted authorizes the adoption; or\n(3) the regulation conforms to the legislative intent of the statute.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=2-506","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"5eb79f0ece5fa8dee558cafccef7c9be3c9c98701e10ed8527e7679a878bc06a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-505","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
