Code, State Government § 2–906","heading":"","body":"(a) The Committee shall:\n(1) as to the relations between the State and the federal government:\n(i) monitor and evaluate the relations;\n(ii) monitor proposals to change the relations;\n(iii) evaluate the impact of the proposals on the State and its citizens and on local governments; and\n(iv) keep officials of the Executive and Legislative branches of the State government and others informed about the relations and the potential impact of proposals to change the relations;\n(2) serve as a forum for consideration of certain State-local issues;\n(3) try to advance the cooperation between the State and other units of government by proposing or facilitating any actions that the Committee considers advisable, including:\n(i) the adoption of compacts;\n(ii) the enactment of uniform statutes;\n(iii) the enactment of reciprocal statutes;\n(iv) the adoption of uniform administrative rules or regulations;\n(v) the adoption of reciprocal administrative rules or regulations;\n(vi) the informal cooperation between government offices;\n(vii) the personal cooperation between officials and employees of governments; and\n(viii) the exchange of information; and\n(4) do any other thing that the Legislative Policy Committee assigns.\n(b) Subject to § 2-1257 of this title, the Committee shall submit to the General Assembly:\n(1) an annual report, within 15 days after the General Assembly convenes for a regular session; and\n(2) any other report that the Committee considers appropriate.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=2-906","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"a14aa36145f66310b805ad9ecf16d83463235a77dfad316e7fccd61dbb43bde9","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-905","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-2-1001"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
