Code, State Government § 20–1104","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not affect the right of a respondent to bring a civil action against a person that has filed a complaint under Subtitle 10, Part I of this title.\n(b) A person is guilty of a misdemeanor if:\n(1) the person has claimed to be aggrieved under Subtitle 10, Part I of this title;\n(2) the person has pursued the complaint under §§ 20–1006 and 20–1008 through 20–1011 of this title;\n(3) the Commission has:\n(i) found the complaint to be unfounded; or\n(ii) dismissed the complaint without further action against the respondent; and\n(4) the court has found the complaint to have been made maliciously.\n(c) A person convicted under this section is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=20-1104","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"a615b242392f463a582eb468852aba15b64ffc57bb205898da5cdccb6497e00d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-20-1103","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-20-1201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
