Code, State Government § 20–301","heading":"","body":"In this subtitle, “place of public accommodation” means:\n(1) an inn, hotel, motel, or other establishment that provides lodging to transient guests;\n(2) a restaurant, cafeteria, lunchroom, lunch counter, soda fountain, or other facility principally engaged in selling food or alcoholic beverages for consumption on or off the premises, including a facility located on the premises of a retail establishment or gasoline station;\n(3) a motion picture house, theater, concert hall, sports arena, stadium, or other place of exhibition or entertainment;\n(4) a retail establishment that:\n(i) is operated by a public or private entity; and\n(ii) offers goods, services, entertainment, recreation, or transportation; or\n(5) an establishment:\n(i) 1. that is physically located within the premises of any other establishment covered by this subtitle; or\n2. within the premises of which any other establishment covered by this subtitle is physically located; and\n(ii) that holds itself out as serving patrons of the covered establishment.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=20-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"5deff0b73ef08a0ec3752fbc95333c581c6710380adb4aee37069ab38dfc0276","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-20-208","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-20-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
