Code, State Government § 20–902","heading":"","body":"(a) In an employment discrimination case in which a unit, officer, or employee of the State, a county, or a municipality is a respondent, the rules, procedures, powers, rights, and remedies that apply are the same as those that apply in a discrimination case in which a private person is the respondent.\n(b) In a discrimination case in which a unit, officer, or employee of the State, a county, or a municipality is a respondent, the Commission may seek injunctive relief or judicial enforcement of its orders against the respondent.\n(c) In a discrimination case in which the Commission, or a member, officer, or employee of the Commission, is a respondent, the Governor shall specially designate a person to perform the functions usually performed by the Commission.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=20-902","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"9cdd4539f1c67119e9b323a6ec219e131d95cf7ed794b439fa2244bd3093d2ff","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-20-901","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-20-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
