Code, State Government § 21–202","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) There is a Maryland Corps Program in the State administered and managed by the Department.\n(2) The Program has two pathways:\n(i) the Young Adult Service Year Option Pathway; and\n(ii) the Maryland Service Year Option Pathway.\n(b) The Program is subject to Title 14, Subtitle 3 of the State Finance and Procurement Article.\n(c) The purpose of the Program is to:\n(1) provide meaningful service opportunities to corps participants that will address the social needs of the community;\n(2) equip corps participants with the skills that will enable them to successfully make the transition from high school to an institution of higher education or to the workforce; and\n(3) provide Program completion awards to corps participants who have completed the Program.\n(d) The Program is subject to review under § 2–1220 of this article.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=21-202","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"08728843a22bb297670815ee873436a7fe34af7ad01144fbaac873c3ae801891","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-21-201","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-21-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
