Code, State Government § 22–404","heading":"","body":"Each employee organization that seeks certification as an exclusive representative shall file with the Board:\n(1) a copy of the employee organization’s governing documents that:\n(i) give individual members the right to participate in activities of the organization;\n(ii) require periodic elections by secret ballot that are conducted with recognized safeguards to ensure the equal rights of all members to nominate, seek office, and vote in the elections; and\n(iii) direct full and accurate accounting of all income and expenses using standard accounting methods; and\n(2) a certification that the employee organization accepts members without regard to any characteristic listed in § 22–201(d) of this title.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=22-404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"00e3e47a80a333ca6381510879bff334eafbbc0dffbfa52aad03eec7eecefb0a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-22-403","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-22-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
