Code, State Government § 3–206","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Any State employee may be assigned to the office staff of the Governor-elect.\n(2) During that assignment, the employee:\n(i) is responsible only to the Governor-elect for the performance of duties;\n(ii) is entitled to the compensation provided by law for the regular employment of the employee; and\n(iii) retains the rights and privileges of that employment.\n(b) (1) In addition to any State employee assigned under subsection (a) of this section, a Governor-elect may appoint other office staff.\n(2) An individual who is appointed under this subsection is not a regular employee of the State government.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=3-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"d7733f97127660aa3cebe313340cab8e939b01f5a47588dfaa994e7686142440","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-3-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-3-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
