Code, State Government § 6–108","heading":"","body":"(a) The Attorney General or any Deputy Attorney General or assistant Attorney General whom the Attorney General designates may:\n(1) become a member of an organization of attorneys general of other states or their deputies or assistants and, as provided in the State budget, contribute to the expenses of the organization; and\n(2) use the services of the Council of State Governments and, as provided in the State budget, contribute to the cost of the services.\n(b) (1) On January 1 of each year, the Attorney General shall submit an annual report to the Governor and, in accordance with § 2–1257 of this article, the General Assembly.\n(2) The annual report shall:\n(i) describe the business and proceedings of the Office during the preceding calendar year; and\n(ii) include any recommendations that the Attorney General considers appropriate.\n(c) The Attorney General shall keep the following records until they are disposed of in accordance with § 10–616 of this article:\n(1) a copy of the pleadings in each suit, action, or other proceeding of which the Office has charge;\n(2) a complete and current docket of those proceedings;\n(3) a copy of each written opinion that the Office issues; and\n(4) an abstract of each title that the Office examines or has examined.\n(d) The Attorney General annually shall publish on the website of the Attorney General:\n(1) the opinions that the Office issued during the preceding calendar year; and\n(2) the annual report for that preceding calendar year.\n(e) (1) The papers of the Office shall be filed in its offices until disposed of in accordance with § 10–616 of this article.\n(2) The papers and books of the Office shall be indexed so that they are readily accessible.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=6-108","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"f8875bb24b4a51213bee3a6316cb1208ce2423476c34fbb7987fc7dd278204d7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-6-107","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-6-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
