Code, State Government § 7–310","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided by this subtitle, a record of a Program participant’s actual address and telephone number maintained by the Secretary of State or a State or local agency is not a public record within the meaning of § 4–101 of the General Provisions Article.\n(b) The Secretary of State may not disclose a Program participant’s actual address or telephone number or substitute address except as provided in subsection (c) of this section and:\n(1) (i) on request by a law enforcement agency for law enforcement purposes; and\n(ii) as directed by a court order; or\n(2) on request by a State or local agency to verify a Program participant’s participation in the Program or substitute address for use under § 7–308 of this subtitle.\n(c) The Secretary of State shall notify the appropriate court of a Program participant’s participation in the Program and of the substitute address designated by the Secretary of State if the Program participant:\n(1) is subject to a court order or an administrative order;\n(2) is involved in a court action or an administrative action; or\n(3) is a witness or a party in a civil or criminal proceeding.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=7-310","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"05dc96e563f108774c084c3b6d7e76110411da8dcab8eca540c5bf4350df1ca5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-7-309","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-7-311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
