Code, State Government § 9–1A–19","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a license issued under this subtitle may not be:\n(1) transferred or assigned to another person; or\n(2) pledged as collateral.\n(b) (1) A licensee may not sell or otherwise transfer more than 5% of the legal or beneficial interests of the licensee unless:\n(i) the licensee notifies the Commission of the proposed sale or transfer;\n(ii) the Commission determines that the proposed buyer or transferee meets the requirements of this subtitle; and\n(iii) the transfer is consistent with the policies and intent of § 9–1A–18 of this subtitle.\n(2) Unless the Commission needs a longer time to determine whether the proposed buyer or transferee meets the requirements of this subtitle, if the requirements of paragraph (1) of this subsection are not satisfied, a license issued under this subtitle is automatically revoked 90 days after the sale or transfer.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=9-1A-19","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"dcb1b03a6412767bf238033545e9c00399d010d666a37cadaad7209ecac27999","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-1a-18","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-1a-20"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
