Code, State Government § 9–2405","heading":"","body":"(a) The term of a member of the Council is 3 years.\n(b) The terms of the members are staggered as required by the terms provided for members of the Council on October 1, 2001.\n(c) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(d) A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(e) A member may not serve consecutively more than two 3-year terms.\n(f) Any member who fails to attend at least 50 percent of the regularly scheduled meetings during any 12-month period shall be considered to have resigned.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=9-2405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"5bd880ece1d167e713577bff0c0f633f21570efdf09b411c67152fc05e1df324","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-2404","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-2406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
