Code, State Government § 9–3707","heading":"","body":"(a) The Commission shall:\n(1) initiate, direct, and coordinate projects that further the understanding of African American history and culture;\n(2) receive and administer any available federal, State, or private money to plan and execute projects or educational activities that further the understanding of African American history and culture;\n(3) operate the Banneker–Douglass–Tubman Museum in Annapolis to house and display photographs, objects, oral history tapes, artifacts, and other materials of African American historic and cultural significance;\n(4) locate, preserve, and disseminate to the public information about significant buildings and sites relating to African American history and culture; and\n(5) publish an annual report and any other material that the Commission considers necessary.\n(b) The Commission may provide operational funding to a museum that specializes in African American history and culture.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=9-3707","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"c202e11faa8e6bb39e270150b9b9452fb13535540cfc88c87449ce04802f12b7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-3706","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-3708"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
