Code, State Government § 9–927","heading":"","body":"(a) Seven members of the Veterans’ Home Commission are a quorum to do business.\n(b) (1) The Veterans’ Home Commission shall meet:\n(i) at least twice a year, at the times and places that it determines; and\n(ii) at the call of the Chairman, on the Chairman’s initiative or on the request of at least 4 members.\n(2) Unless all of the members of the Veterans’ Home Commission agree otherwise, the secretary of the Commission shall give each member at least 7 days’ written notice of a meeting.\n(3) If the President is unable to attend a meeting, the President may designate a Senator or an employee of the General Assembly to represent the President at the meeting.\n(4) If the Speaker is unable to attend a meeting, the Speaker may designate a Delegate or an employee of the General Assembly to represent the Speaker at the meeting.\n(5) If the Governor is unable to attend a meeting, the Governor may designate another individual to represent the Governor at the meeting.\n(c) A member of the Veterans’ Home Commission:\n(1) may not receive compensation; but\n(2) is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=9-927","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"6ccac320696328495d2629f7e65103bf54e757add432a4f88c01df37d040a1a4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-926","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-928"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
