Code, State Government § 9–934","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Commission consists of 10 members.\n(2) Of the 10 Commission members:\n(i) 5 shall be appointed by the Secretary, with the approval of the Governor; and\n(ii) 5 shall be appointed by the Mayor of Baltimore City.\n(b) Each member must be a Maryland war veteran.\n(c) (1) The term of a member is 5 years.\n(2) The terms of a member are staggered as required by the terms provided for members of the Commission on October 1, 1984.\n(3) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.\n(4) A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=9-934","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"2c596856016a7cf6f178f7193d420af7bc8ffdbfd974d2f07a61924045b01530","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-933","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-935"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
