Code, State Government § 9–946","heading":"","body":"The Secretary shall submit a report by December 31 of each year to the Governor and, in accordance with § 2–1257 of this article, the General Assembly, that includes:\n(1) the number of:\n(i) requests for help in obtaining benefits;\n(ii) public contacts made by the Communications, Outreach, and Advocacy Program;\n(iii) veterans enrolled in the United States Veterans Health Administration; and\n(iv) veterans receiving benefits;\n(2) the average amount of disability and pension benefits received by qualified individuals in this State compared to individuals in other states;\n(3) an account of the costs of operating the Communications, Outreach, and Advocacy Program;\n(4) a status of the accomplishments for, efficacy of, efficiency of, and level of resources available for each of the following programs:\n(i) cemetery;\n(ii) memorial;\n(iii) service;\n(iv) veterans homes;\n(v) communications, outreach, and advocacy;\n(vi) Maryland Veterans Service Animal Program and Fund; and\n(vii) veterans’ services specialists;\n(5) a general assessment of the status of veterans in the State;\n(6) the estimated impact current operations are likely to have on the needs of veterans in the future;\n(7) the status of federal veterans programs as they relate to Maryland veterans;\n(8) a general assessment of communication methods utilized in support of the Communications, Outreach, and Advocacy Program;\n(9) any other issues concerning veterans that the Secretary considers appropriate; and\n(10) any other issues concerning service members, including issues uniquely pertaining to active service members that the Secretary considers appropriate.","path":["Article - State Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsg\u0026section=9-946","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:58Z","sha256":"8958a2aae2c02b4b68c00f55483058187cb0715e5953ebdfd97f93050c4252c0","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-944","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-government-9-949"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
