Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 13–304","heading":"","body":"(a) A contractual employee who transfers to a budgeted position under this subtitle or who is selected to fill a budgeted position in the State Personnel Management System, without a break in service, in the same principal unit that employs the contractual employee, shall be given credit for service in the contractual position for the purpose of establishing:\n(1) steps in the pay grade applicable to the budgeted position;\n(2) annual leave; and\n(3) seniority rights.\n(b) A contractual employee who transfers to a budgeted position under this subtitle or who is selected to fill a budgeted position shall become a member of the Employees’ Pension System of the State of Maryland.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=13-304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"cebb905d5685e30883d392d69dc82a5dd0ca3c6658467cf34ecbfab660a10356","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-13-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-13-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
