Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 22–214","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) This subsection applies only to a member who is subject to Selection A (Additional member contributions).\n(2) For a member whose membership started on or before June 30, 1973, the contribution rate as a percent of a member's earnable compensation is the lesser of:\n(i) 2% plus the contribution rate adopted by the Board of Trustees and in effect when membership began; or\n(ii) 7%.\n(3) For a member whose membership started on or after July 1, 1973, the contribution rate is 7% of a member's earnable compensation.\n(4) For a member who under § 22-308(b)(2) of this title elects to receive full-time service credit for regular part-time employment, the contribution rate is 7% of the compensation the member would have earned had the member been a full-time employee.\n(b) (1) This subsection applies to a member who is subject to Selection B (Limited cost-of-living adjustment).\n(2) For a member whose membership started on or before June 30, 1973, the contribution rate as a percent of a member's earnable compensation is the lesser of:\n(i) the contribution rate adopted by the Board of Trustees and in effect when membership began; or\n(ii) 5%.\n(3) For a member whose membership started on or after July 1, 1973, the contribution rate is 5% of a member's earnable compensation.\n(4) For a member who elects under § 22-308(b)(2) of this title to receive full-time service credit for regular part-time employment, the contribution rate is 5% of the compensation the member would have earned had the member been a full-time employee.\n(c) (1) This subsection applies to a member who is subject to Selection C (Combination formula).\n(2) A member’s contribution rate is as provided in § 23-212 of this article.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=22-214","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"ae3c23667d5b6dd333420b318db5e66431286b5b4956c8c59e9d087d5672370b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-22-213","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-22-215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
