Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 29–405","heading":"","body":"(a) This section applies only to an allowance received by a former member, retiree, or surviving beneficiary of a deceased member, former member, or retiree:\n(1) of the Employees’ Retirement System or the Teachers’ Retirement System who elected Selection B (Limited cost–of–living adjustment); or\n(2) who transferred to the Law Enforcement Officers’ Pension System from the Employees’ Retirement System and had elected Selection B (Limited cost–of–living adjustment).\n(b) A cost–of–living adjustment payable under this section shall be a compound cost–of–living adjustment computed in accordance with § 29–402(d)(2) of this subtitle.\n(c) A cost–of–living adjustment payable under this section shall be subject to a cost–of–living rate cap of 5%.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=29-405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"25c3b4c37b6e6b2ecfa86bb05adba4ea1f91891fbba4cc7f3cc3f4b40c6c7de4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-29-404","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-29-406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
