Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 5–211","heading":"","body":"(a) An applicant or employee subject to this subtitle may file with the head of the principal unit a written complaint:\n(1) that alleges a violation of § 5–208 of this subtitle; or\n(2) that alleges harassment in violation of § 20–606(a)(5) of the State Government Article.\n(b) A complaint under subsection (a)(1) of this section must be filed within 1 year after the complainant first knew of or reasonably should have known of the alleged violation that is the basis for the complaint.\n(c) A complaint under subsection (a)(2) of this section must be filed within 2 years after the alleged violation that is the basis for the complaint.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=5-211","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"89b2f011a0f37bc080995bff3db0e356affddec17ec03f6b8d0d140c50460039","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-5-210","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-5-212"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
