Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 7–206","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) An appointing authority may use any appropriate selection process to rate qualified applicants.\n(2) A unit must be able to establish the job relatedness, reliability, and validity of the selection tests that it uses.\n(b) (1) A selection test must be:\n(i) free of charge; and\n(ii) except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, open to all qualified applicants.\n(2) An appointing authority:\n(i) may disqualify and refuse to examine an otherwise qualified applicant who intentionally falsifies information in the application; and\n(ii) shall give the applicant a written notice of the reason for the proposed disqualification.\n(3) An applicant who is disqualified under this subsection may submit a written response to the notice.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=7-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"01221c8feb4c76c1179d9135076af527be664fb9afe47532a3d843f319e2d6d3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-7-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-7-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
