Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 9–1104","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “uniformed services” has the meaning stated in 38 U.S.C. § 4303 and 20 C.F.R. § 1002.5(o).\n(b) The Secretary may provide by regulation for leave with pay:\n(1) for jury service;\n(2) to attend employee organization events approved for this purpose by the Secretary;\n(3) up to 30 days for uniformed services training or active uniformed services duty in a reserve component or in the organized militia;\n(4) unless the employee is a party to the action or a paid witness, to appear in compliance with a subpoena:\n(i) in court;\n(ii) before a grand jury;\n(iii) before an administrative unit; or\n(iv) for a deposition;\n(5) for administrative leave for the purpose of immediately removing an employee from the work site, if the employee:\n(i) poses a threat to self, another individual, or State property; or\n(ii) is incapable of properly performing the employee’s duties because of extraordinary circumstances; and\n(6) any other paid leave the Secretary deems necessary.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=9-1104","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"f563b68227d9c1a2412720184055ad8413e5f71369193a8f8d8126830579bea2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-9-1103","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-9-1105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
