Code, State Personnel and Pensions § 9–302","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “total State service” includes any previous State service.\n(b) Annual leave accrues as follows, on a pro rata basis:\n(1) for an employee whose total State service is less than 5 years, at the rate of 10 workdays not to exceed 80 hours, a year;\n(2) for an employee whose total State service is at least 5 years but less than 10 years, at the rate of 15 workdays not to exceed 120 hours, a year;\n(3) for an employee whose total State service is at least 10 years but less than 20 years, at the rate of 20 workdays not to exceed 160 hours, a year; and\n(4) for an employee whose total State service is 20 years or more, at the rate of 25 workdays not to exceed 200 hours, a year.","path":["Article - State Personnel and Pensions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gsp\u0026section=9-302","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:07Z","sha256":"695361646d943bcf9c226287dbf7f895429b96f64c3ab4f7c724d883280ca812","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-9-301","next":"us-md/md.-code-state-personnel-and-pensions-9-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
