Code, Tax - General § 13–840","heading":"","body":"(a) If a person files with the Comptroller a claim for return of the seized motor fuel or conveyances used in its transportation, the Comptroller shall:\n(1) provide an opportunity for a hearing; and\n(2) if requested by the claimant, conduct the hearing within 5 working days after the claim is received.\n(b) The Comptroller shall:\n(1) make a final determination of whether the property should be forfeited within 2 working days after the date of the conclusion of the hearing; and\n(2) mail a notice of the final determination on the date on which that determination is made.","path":["Article - Tax - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtg\u0026section=13-840","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:18Z","sha256":"80fc3414da49ba0613bf47a916881f934871acbd9296744a54529be2508ade0f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-tax-general-13-839","next":"us-md/md.-code-tax-general-13-841"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
