Code, Tax - General § 9–212","heading":"","body":"To compute the amount of motor fuel that a motor carrier uses to operate commercial motor vehicles on highways in the State, the motor carrier shall:\n(1) compute its average fleet miles for each gallon of motor fuel as a fraction:\n(i) the numerator of which is the total miles that the motor carrier’s entire fleet travels in all states; and\n(ii) the denominator of which is the total gallons of motor fuel used;\n(2) determine the total miles the motor carrier’s fleet travels on highways in this State; and\n(3) divide the number computed under item (2) by the fraction computed under item (1) of this section.","path":["Article - Tax - General"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtg\u0026section=9-212","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:18Z","sha256":"240d9313656ff39e21c96f3d30c1e8900af9a45c5b903a22c78a6d37e1c572f1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-tax-general-9-209","next":"us-md/md.-code-tax-general-9-213"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
