Code, Transportation § 11–128","heading":"","body":"(a) “License”, as used in reference to the operation of a motor vehicle, means any:\n(1) Driver’s license; and\n(2) Any other license or permit to drive a motor vehicle that is issued under or granted by the laws of this State, including:\n(i) Any temporary license;\n(ii) A learner’s instructional permit;\n(iii) A provisional license;\n(iv) The privilege of any individual to drive a motor vehicle, whether or not that individual is formally licensed by this or any other jurisdiction;\n(v) Any nonresident’s privilege to drive, as defined in this subtitle; and\n(vi) A commercial driver’s license.\n(b) “License” does not include an electronic credential issued under Title 16, Subtitle 10 of this article.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=11-128","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"7e66ddcd692f62f8be799ac0c3b8de6213f5547c06810ced70616dcf28130f8e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-11-127.2","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-11-129"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
