Code, Transportation § 11–159","heading":"","body":"(a) “Special mobile equipment” means, except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, a vehicle that:\n(1) Is not used primarily for highway transportation of people or property; and\n(2) Is operated or moved on a highway only as an incident to its nonhighway use.\n(b) “Special mobile equipment” includes a road construction or maintenance machine, mobile crane, ditchdigger, well driller, concrete mixer, jobsite office vehicle, or portable power generator.\n(c) “Special mobile equipment” does not include a farm tractor or any farm equipment.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=11-159","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"33758fe964ce24fe1a8f4b66d3919684e419eb13e9c7e0d738ca5e3fb9c1fd6c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-11-158.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-11-160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
