Code, Transportation § 13–705","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Administration may suspend or revoke the registration or certificate of title of any vehicle if the Administration:\n(i) Is satisfied that the registration or certificate was fraudulently obtained or erroneously issued;\n(ii) Determines that the required fee has not been paid after reasonable notice and demand; or\n(iii) Is so authorized under any other provision of law.\n(2) The Administration may suspend or revoke the registration of a vehicle if:\n(i) The Administration determines that the vehicle is mechanically unfit or unsafe to be operated on the highways;\n(ii) The vehicle has been dismantled or wrecked; or\n(iii) A registration card or registration plate not issued for that vehicle is displayed on or for the vehicle.\n(b) A suspension or revocation under this section is subject to the right of appeal as follows:\n(1) By a resident to the circuit court for the county in which the individual resides or has a principal place of business;\n(2) By a nonresident to the circuit court for the county in which the individual temporarily resides or was apprehended; or\n(3) In any other case, to the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=13-705","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"c7f2b5f243d0136d82d89c1b9d4e002eac92d53f21bde889992c68fea25c1efd","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-13-704","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-13-705.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
